Romeo

Cold despair my daily plight
Hope, a fire I can’t ignite
I close my door and shut the light
To make myself an artificial night

Morning Star

I walk in shadows, like the night
The falling star from the skies
I'm all what's best of dark and bright
get lost in my aspect, in my eyes
Listen to my words that bring light
to both the ignorant and the wise

Where? There? Swear

Where are you now?
Do you miss me there?
Let me know how
Cos I miss you like air

Please, tell me where
Is it at the fair?
It just isn’t fair
you are so very fair
and far from my stare.

I find you so rare
Not easy to spare
To God I would swear
You I would not share

If You Really Really Love Me

If you really loved me
the way you say you do
If you love me half as much
as I love you
You would pluck a planet from the sky
You'd use a star to dot the i
In I love you... that is what you'd do
You'd take a dreary day
and you would paint it blue
If you loved me unconditionally
These are the things
that you would do for me

Because I need you
Like a fish needs the sea
Like a fire needs oxygen
Like a flower needs a bee
And if you really care for me
You'd call when you are free

During a holiday or a weekend
Cos from your kindness I depend
While alone or with a friend
A few words would keep me content

We go together
Like crackers and cheese
Like racism and ignorance
Like squirrels and trees
But if you really want to show you care
You'd text me every now and then

About your life, about your day
I really hope that you'r doing OK
I know you'r busy doing stuff
But don't you miss me enough?

Because I need you
Like a tick needs a tock
Like detectives need a clue
Like a gambler needs luck

We go together
Like a bird in a nest
Like Internet and porn
Like guns and the US

So Call me often, so call me now
Weather you're silent or you're loud
So text me sober or text me drunk
From a big party or someone's trunk

Because I dig you
Like my cousin digs pies
Like Born-Agains dig Jesus
Like Jesus dug guys

And if you love me unconditionally
You'd do my tax return for me
Cos it's way overdue,
and I just don't know,
I guess I'm self-employed
but do I still pay as I go?
And does the threshold apply to me?
And should I register for GST
And if you love me unconditionally
You'd try stay in touch with me

Nothing else to do

My roommate is hairy
He is gay as a fairy
His name is Gary
And he is very scary

Wednesday

There’s a pile of work that must be done
I’m working all night till the break of dawn
One by one till they are all gone
It’s time to sleep and now I yawn

A New Semester

And so one chapter ends
And another begins.
So what would I recommend
At the end of your teens?

To enjoy life and have fun
And make out with a nun
To be a good lover
And have always a rubber

To forgive and forget
And pay off your debts
Or to seek your revenge
Like a gentlemen or savage

Try to laugh and tell jokes
Have a drink but not smokes.
And if your situation is dire
For you to get hired.

A Rationalist's Love Poem

When I see you I feel frozen
For that I blame oxytocine.
Things slow down, even time
For that I blame dopamine.
I wish there was a vaccine
Against phenylethylamine.

For what is real love
But firings in the lobe.
It is all in my brains
In my hormones in my veins.
I really wish I could explain
How this drives me insane.

Love is nature’s aid
for males to get laid!
I know I’m so romantic
I’m blunt, that’s my tactic.
To be in love and understand
Why it feels like wonderland.

Because it's bitter

Reach into my chest
Reap my broken heart
I believe it's best
I believe it smart

To have no emotions
seems a better option.
Our must basic notions
have given us for adoption.
